The 40th Annual Lac qui Parle Lake Walleye Tournament was greeted with strong South winds and warm temperatures. 60 boats headed out in hopes of bringing 5 fish to the scales. 45 walleyes were weighed in for a total of 116.9 lbs. Tony Malmquist and Jordan Fischer took top honors weighing in 4 fish for 9.64 lbs and took home a check for $2,200. Second Place went to Mike Halvorson and Josh Fernholz who weighed 1 fish for 7.7 lbs. This was also the big fish of the tournament so they took home $1700 in prize money. Adam Spray and Eric Spray took third place weighing in 3 fish for 7.6 pounds good for $900 plus $510 in option pot money. Fourth place was Ryan Hoium and Lucas Hoium who weighed 2 fish for 7.32 lbs worth $600 plus $306 in option pot money. Fifth place went to Matt Fernholz and Grady Fernholz who weighed 1 fish for 6.84 lbs, they also had the second largest walleye and option pot winnings for a total of $904.
